Hampton Oval in Dampier was transformed into a haven of fun for Pilbara youngsters last Friday night for National Youth Week event Sparkfest.

The free event was open to young people aged 11 to 25, who enjoyed carnival amusements, a photo booth and foam pit.

Live performances from local talents and presentations from youth groups around the Pilbara kept the crowds entertained.

Special guest and Home and Away star Nic Westaway gave a rare musical performance, while DJ Antikz had the crowd up and dancing.

Westaway said it was his first venture to Dampier and he loved supporting youth week events as they brought communities together.

National Youth Week is celebrated throughout the country from April 8 to 17.
