A three-pointer in the dying minutes of play allowed Vipers to maintain their unbeaten streak in the men’s B-grade of the Karratha Basketball Association last week.

Trailing 15-10 at half-time to the Titans, the Vipers managed crucial stops and converted at the other end as the match stayed within a two-point buffer for most of the half.

Offensive rebounds and secondchance plays from Tom Lukatela (seven points) kept the Vipers in the game as Titans’ Kurston Tommy (10 points) and Dre Walker (seven points) tried to put it out of their reach.

But with about a minute-and-ahalf left on the clock and the scores locked at 22-22, Vipers’ Masri Amirell pulled off the clutch

three-pointer from deep, which did not touch the sides of the hoop.

Vipers held on to win the game. Thunder also continued their winning ways with a 40-28 victory against Warriors.

Things were close at half-time, with Thunder up 22-18.

However, Thunder’s Kendall Taylor was raining buckets with 19 points for the game.

Warriors’ Jason Hyland contributed with 12 points.

Flakers lost again, this time going down to the Heat, 13-23. Top scorers for the match were Flakers’ Simon Sander and Heat’s

James Dolinsek, both with nine points.

In the men’s A-grade, Coral Trouts showed they might have what it takes to pick their season back up with a 37-29 win over

powerhouse Mayuga Majik. There were only two points in it at the half-time break, but Leigh Cover and Matthew Rhodes combined for a solid 23 points to claim the win for Trouts.

Kamin Bin Rashid scored eight points for Majik.

In the women’s division, the Cyclones beat Timeout 26-20 thanks to 12 points from Ashanti Hicks.

Zoe Rundle was dominant for Timeout keeping her side in it with 18 individual points.
