Karratha detectives arrested a 48-year-old Bulgarra woman yesterday for allegedly possessing 42g of the illicit drug heroin.

Acting on a tip-off about a person carrying a strangely wrapped package, police apprehended the woman at a Nickol home where she was allegedly found with about $25,000 worth of heroin.

Detective Senior Sergeant Jon Munday said to find heroin wasn’t that common in Karratha, and the drug was worth about the same as methamphetamine per ounce.

The woman appeared this afternoon in the Karratha Magistrates Court today and has been remanded in custody until May 19.
