Triathon season continues
The streets of Karratha came alive with 39 dedicated athletes on Sunday morning as the Nickol Bay Triathlon Club continued its race season.
Bevan Stirling dominated the race, taking overall victory, and the veteran male section in a time of 1 hour, 5 minutes and 5 seconds.
Stirling timed his efforts well, putting the hard yards into the run leg where he pulled a substantial gap on Jason Geikie, who took second place, and Todd Rintoul, in third.
It was a stirring performance from Stirling who clearly pushed himself to the very end of the run section despite being well in front of his competitors.
The first leg of the race involved a 600 metre swim leg before the testing 18km bike leg which went through the heart of the town centre.
A six kilometre run leg was the final part of the equation for the athletes.
