The second round of the Karratha Water Polo Association’s competition belonged to the female Pirate’s team, who finished Thursday evening undefeated in the pool

In the first ladies game, the Pirates defeated the Krakens 7-3.

Despite some impressive goals from Natalie Glover, Jessica Newbold and Brooke Turner early in the game, the Pirates were able to keep the Krakens ladies scoreless in the last quarter.

The most Best and Fairest votes went to Pirates’ Anouska Angove after her remarkable five goal effort, followed by Erin Shaylor and Laura Hill.

In their second game, the Pirates defeated the Barracudas 6-4.

Julie Anne Elkins’ stand out performance for the Cudas earned her three best and fairest votes.

Anouska and Portia Angove also received votes for the Pirates.

In the men’s competition, the Krakens defeated the Pirates 8-5 after a stand out performance from David Rigby.

Best and Fairest went to Rigby, Justin Angove and Byron Newbold.

In the second men’s game, the Pirates had better luck, winning their game over the Barracudas 7-6.

Best and Fairest went to Haydon Linn, Dean Murray and Justin Angove received his nomination for the evening.

Training and match nights are on Tuesday and Thursday nights respectively, starting at 6pm.
