Well-rounded evening celebrates difference

The Pilbara Multicultural Association held its Harmony Day celebrations on Saturday, promoting a mixture of cultures and cuisines in the spirit of the national event.

Opening with entertainment from a variety of cultures, the night featured a dinner provided by guests of all backgrounds.

PMA president Anand Subramoney said the organisation had received a lot of positive comments about the night and many who came took membership forms or signed up to be part of the association.

Those who attended wore orange pins as part of Harmony Day and there were many who showed up wearing traditional clothes.

Entertainment ran throughout the night and consisted of a mixture of different cultural shows.

Mr Subramoney said the event was very well-rounded and more than 100 people showed up.
