Wickham Wolves notched up another win in their Friday night league showdown against the Karratha Falcons at Wickham Oval last week.

Second-placed Wolves triumphed by 34 points in a gamethey dominated on the scoreboard and while the Falcons were never too far behind, they could not make up the difference.

Karratha suffered from being slow off the mark and fell behind early after the Wolves used their usual attacking efficiency to score 5-0 in the first quarter to the Falcons’ 1-5.

From then on, Wickham held on to the lead while Karratha chipped away to keep pace and make any inroads into the margin they could.

They gathered enough momentum to outscore the Wolves in the final term and add an impressive 5.5 to their scoreline, narrowing the difference to a little more than 30 points the game’s end.

The final score stood at 17-9 (111) to 11-11 (77).

Wolves’ Jarrod Cross held on to his place at the top of the NPFL top goal kickers’ ladder with six goals for his team.

Wickham had another victory in their reserves game, though it was a more even match and they did not kick away properly until the last quarter.

The result was 11-11 (77) to 8-4 (52) to Wickham.

Wolves’ Beau Alec and Falcons’ James Van Hoof each scored four goals for their respective teams.
