After a week-long break for the North West Inter-town Competition, the fifth round of the Karratha District Junior Soccer competition was played on Saturday.

In the 13s age group, Nickol 4 ran out 4-0 winners over Nickol 1 and Nickol 3 proved too strong for Wickham, with J Bushby scoring a hat trick in the 7-2 victory.

Salt recorded their second win of the season when they defeated Nickol 2 2-nil.

In the late game, Glory ran out winners 8-1 over Dampier, with J van Hoek scoring a hat trick for Glory.

In the 18s age group, Dampier took the early lead and consolidated their position in the second half, only to have a determined Nickol 1 fight back to get a 5-5 draw in a high-scoring game.

In the late game, top-of-the-table Glory came up against a very determined Salt.

Despite Glory attacking the goal at every opportunity, Salt inflicted Glory's first loss of the season with a comfortable 4-2 victory.

Nickol 4 and 3 sit on equal points atop the 13s ladder after five rounds of competition.

Glory and Nickol 2 are both on nine points to lead the 18s age group ladder.
