A bushfire advice has been issued for workers at Rio Tinto’s Marandoo Mine Camp near Karijini National Park.

A fire which started yesterday afternoon near the camp continues to burn today in inaccessible terrain around Mount Sheila in the Shire of Ashburton.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services says there is no immediate danger, though people in the area should keep up to date in case the situation changes.

An advice is also in place for people travelling on Karijini Drive due to smoke on the area.

Drivers are urged to turn headlights on and drive slowly, and watch out for emergency services personnel in the area.

No roads have been closed but motorists have been asked to avoid the area.

Firefighters are monitoring the situation.
