An urgent search was underway for a four-year-old boy who went missing near a river in WA’s South West before he was found safe and well a short time later.

WA Police said the child was last seen around 2.20pm on Sunday in the town of Boyup Brook.

Just before 3.40pm, police confirmed the child was found “safe and well”.

“Great result,” South West district police said on Facebook.

“WA Police would like to thank you - for your assistance.”
