It was a case of relief for the Karratha Falcons and another tough road trip for the Port Hedland Rovers as the former posted its first wins of the season in both grades.

Falcons led throughout the match and continued to turn the screws into the Rovers all the way to the finish.

Rovers' head coaches made up for numbers in their squads again with league coach Greg Mastrangelo kicking one of his team's four goals.

Falcons spread the scoring around with James Spark, Jai Wheeler, Shaun Sullivan and Bein Van Le all booting two apiece in the 10.13 (73) to 4.10 (34) win.

It was a closer match in the reserves grade with Falcons digging deep to steal the match in the final quarter.

Falcons scored one goal in the first half and looked to be in store for another loss as they trailed two goals, 4.7 (31) to 6.5 (41), coming into the last.

The young squad kept their legs and played hard in a massive fourth period getting five goals and restricting the visitors for a deserved 9.11 (65) to 7.5 (47) win.

James Foster-Reed was the high scorer for the match grabbing four goals while Falcons team mates David Riddell-Robertson (three goals) and David Ward (two goals) kicked the rest of the majors for the come-from-behind win.

Rovers will hope to rally in a home match against Karratha Kats the next round while the Falcons will be in for a tough match against the Wickham Wolves in the den.
