Rack'a'holics are one of the teams that has stepped up this year in the Karratha Districts Eightball Association competition, winning their last three matches to sit in outright third position.

Last week playing Mongrels, they had the opportunity to cement themselves in the top three and bridge the gap between the two teams above them, ladder leaders Mongrels and second-placed Warriors.

Mongrels took the first round 3-2 and then followed it up with another 3-2 round.

Rack'a'holics required a 4-1 win in the final round but the Mongrels played the better eight ball, taking the first four games of the round to finish 10-5 victors.

As it turned out Rack'a'holics were still able to hold on to outright third position as the logjam of teams one match behind them grew from two to five.

Outlaws and Taverners both had 9-6 wins over Wreckers and Animals respectively to get within striking distance of a top-four position.

There were also two forfeits, with Taniwhas and Pool Sharks forfeiting 10-0 to Warriors and Slaminars respectively.
