Riders shake off cobwebs
The Burrup Mountain Bike Club held its fifth and final summer social ride on Saturday March 7.
Twenty-six cyclists turned out to brave the heat and ride their mountain bikes around a 4.2km circuit.
The course started at the dirtmasters track and traversed some exciting single tracks, including the roller-coaster downhill section known as dogs hollow, before finishing back at the dirtmasters track.
The summer social rides are aimed at having a bit of fun, keeping the cob webs off the mountain bikes during the hotter months of the year and sharing a few drinks and laughs after the ride. Brett Buckland and Amanda Ewin managed to complete the most laps of the set course in the allocated hour, for the male and female categories respectively.
The Burrup mountain bike club welcomes riders of all abilities.
In 2015 the club will be running a number of events including the classic Dr Baynton's six-hour remedy, various social rides, a number of dirtmasters sessions for the younger riders and also some skills clinics for those wanting to improve their skills.
