A daytime robbery of a Karratha TAB has prompted calls from police for public assistance in identifying the offender.

A 57-year-old employee at the Ibis Styles was allegedly pushed to the ground by a man demanding money from the safe before 7.30am this morning (May 14).

West Pilbara Detectives officer-in-charge Jon Munday said that, fearing for her safety, the woman complied.

She was allegedly pushed to the ground again but suffered no significant injuries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Munday said the man was described as dark skinned, 187cm tall, wearing a black hoody with the hood covering his face, and dark pants.

He said a second man wearing blue denim jeans was possibly involved.

Det. Sen. Sgt Munday said they were scouring CCTV from nearby shops and a significant amount of money, maybe more than $1000, was taken in the robbery.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
