A possible upset loomed in eight ball as an in-form Dampier Outlaws, who have been carving up teams in recent weeks, met ladder leaders, Warriors.

The first round went 4-1 to the Warriors and they were never to be challenged as they won the next two rounds 3- 2 to finish easy 10-5 victors.

Warriors are two matches and percentage ahead of the next team Mongrels, who they dealt with the previous week and look likely to go through to the finals with only one loss for the season.

Pool Sharks are the only other side expected to challenge Warriors, only they need bridge the gap between being great one week and mediocre the next.

Rack'a'holics have been the big improvers this season and showed they really want a top four spot by outclassing a mediocre Pool Sharks 10-5, albeit Pool Sharks won the first three games of the match and then capitulated.

In another upse,t Taverners have dropped out of the top four at the hands of Slaminars 9-6.

Slaminars also had Taverners' measure in the first round.

Mongrels found the winners' podium against Wreckers 11-4 to end a three-match losing streak.

In the other game, bottom of the ladder Animals came up with a convincing 11-4 win over Taniwhas.
