What’s better than one Strom?

Fremantle have drafted the younger sister of star ruck Mim Strom in one of the most heartwarming moments of the AFLW draft.

The Dockers took Indi Strom with pick 51, their fourth and final selection on Monday, after the South Fremantle defender impressed during her stint as a train on during the season.

The selection was a surprise for both sisters, with the club informing the 2024 best and fairest winner she was surprising a draftee at work - but not that it was Indi.

In an emotional video posted to social media, Mim is overjoyed when she realises it was her sister behind the desk.

When her sibling asks if she knew, a bewildered Mim responds: “No, no. I had no idea.”

She then turns to the 20-year-old and says: “You are drafted. We’re going to be teammates.”

“Mum is going to cry her head off,” she adds.

Indi laughed off her sister not knowing where she worked as she recounted the moment.

“She walked in thinking she was going to (surprise) some other draftee and she saw my face and I saw hers and then we just kind of looked at each other. It was unbelievable,” Indi said.

“And then we shed a little tear and hugged eachother. It felt like a movie, honestly, it felt like it wasn’t real.

“I will never forget this moment.”

It will be a family affair at Fremantle next season, with the pair’s older brother Zac also serving as the club’s AFLW ruck coach.
