Geelong are coming off a rest, Brisbane are coming off the high of an almighty comeback against GWS only one will get the chance to take on the Swans in next week’s grand final.

The Lions are running hot but it’s been 20 years since they took down the Cats in a final who present a massive challenge even if they’ve swapped their traditional home for the MCG.

Despite the best efforts of the AFL’s equalisation methods the Cats continue to be a constant prescence in September and it will take something special (and better accuracy in front of goal) for the Lions to stop their run.

THREE QUARTER TIME Brisbane 10.10 (70) Geelong 10.8 (68)

What a quarter from the Lions who found themselves 25 points down to now lead by two points. Kai Lohman and Cam Raynor had magnificent quarters though both missed shots at goal towards the end. But the forced move of Daniher to the ruck has seen the Lions force to go quick and low inside 50 with no tall options and the Cats haven’t been able to cope with the pace. Still it’s only two points, massive final quarter coming up.
