Perth Scorchers skipper Ashton Turner is set for his first Big Bash game in nearly 12 months against Melbourne Stars on Sunday as he manages a rib complaint.

Turner was struck down with a devastating knee injury bowling against the Hobart Hurricanes on December 20 last year, but will be there to lead his side at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

He is also set to be joined by rising star Cooper Connolly who has recovered from a hand fracture suffered last month while batting for Australia against Pakistan in Perth.

Ashton Agar has also been named in the 14-man squad after getting through training in recent days.

The Scorchers could also debut all three of their international imports with Finn Allen, Keaton Jennings and Matthew Hurst named.

Big-hitting Kiwi Allen looks set to bring his kamikaze power to bare at the top of the order while Jennings will also likely open in the absence of local superstar Josh Inglis.

Inglis’ absence while on international duties with the Test team also open the door for 21-year-old Hurst to take the gloves.

Perth’s newest addition to the bowling line-up, local replacement player Bryce Jackson, could also make a whirlwind debut but sits behind gun trio Jason Behrendorff, Jhye Richardson and Lance Morris as well as Andrew Tye.

Matthew Kelly is also in the bowling mix.

Perth Scorchers squad for Game One:
