Style ideas for your Christmas table
I wanted to embrace an Australian theme, so I have chosen native foliage to make my wreaths.
The great thing about eucalypts and gumnuts is that they dry beautifully so you can keep them for the whole festive season and possibly beyond — they make great sculptural wall pieces.
I always like to start with a neutral base. Here, this means white-painted brick, a concrete-top table and black wire chairs.
The industrial-style furniture is softened, with the foliage and fabric making it rustic and earthy.
We are so lucky that an Aussie Christmas comes with warm weather so these pieces can also be used outside.
I chose Australian-designed Robert Gordon crockery and local designer Tahnee Mae for her handmade stick ornaments.
How to: Lisa Quinn-Schofield’s DIY Australiana wreaths
I went with an Australiana theme as these leaves dry out nicely and don't bruise.
How to:
1. Buy a cane craft ring (available from craft stores or Spotlight) and wrap greenery around it, using twine to tie it in place at each end and in the centre of the branch.
2. When you’re happy with the desired fullness, snip off excess foliage.
