Man stabbed in stomach in car park of Swan Valley cidery complex
UPDATE: Three men are on the run after a stabbing outside a Swan Valley cidery.
The 26-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times in the stomach on Saturday afternoon.
It is understood a fight broke out between a group of individuals just before 4pm near the toilet block in the car park of the Valencia Complex, which houses venues Funk Cider, Ironbark Brewery and the Old Fig Tree Restaurant.
Funk Cider owner Robbie Hockley said the victim had been asked to leave the cidery shortly after he arrived due to intoxication.
“Him (the victim) and his girlfriend were asked to leave in line with RSA conditions and they left. The next we heard was that we needed to call police and an ambulance,” Mr Hockley.
“The incident happened behind the toilets in the car park and out of our line of sight.
“We’re a family venue and we do not condone irresponsible drinking or antisocial behaviour. There’s nothing further we could have done to prevent this incident.”
A police spokesperson later confirmed the victim had been taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
“Shortly before 4pm police were advised that a male had been stabbed, following an altercation,” the spokesperson said.
“The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.”
Police are on the hunt for three men believed to be involved in the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call police on 131 444 or report it to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
