Jaylen Brown has scored Boston's first 15 points on five consecutive three-pointers and finished with 29 points, before the Celtics withstood a late charge to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-105.

James Harden had 23 points and eight assists, Ivica Zubac had 16 points and 12 rebounds and the Los Angeles Clippers coasted to a 125-99 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night to also win their fifth game in a row.

But they're all chasing league-leading Cleveland, who improved to 17-1 after beating Toronto 122-108.

At TD Garden, Jayson Tatum added 26 points and eight rebounds to help Boston go 14-3, second in the Eastern Conference standings behind the Cavaliers.

Anthony Edwards had 28 points and nine rebounds for Minnesota (8-8), who have lost five of their last seven.

Julius Randle added 23 points and Rudy Gobert finished with 10 points and 20 rebounds, his eighth double-double of the season.

Jarrett Allen had 23 points and 13 rebounds for the hosts and Evan Mobley added 14 and 11.

Scottie Barnes and Gradey Dick had 18 points apiece for Toronto (4-13), now 0-8 on the road.

Elsewhere, Ben Simmons' Brooklyn Nets saw off the Sacramento Kings 108-103, with the Aussie contributing four points, three rebounds and five assists.

The Heat sunk the Dallas Mavericks 123-118 after overtime in Miami and the Indiana Pacers beat the league-worst Washington Wizards, 115-103.
